I am without a doubt a massive Christopher Bailey/burberry fan, every season Bailey manages to create something new and exciting but still distinctly Burberry, the menswear SS11 collection was of course no different. The whole collection played up to burberrys cool rock and roll aesthetic to the max, with the leathers, motorcycle jackets (which i’ll come to later) and studs, a look which Bailey carries off really well without making it seem cheap or to over the top.
I love a good motorcycle jacket so the highlight of the whole collection for me was the amount of motorcycle jackets incorporated into the looks, especially the studded black number which was a bit intense. Of course there was the usual variation of the classic Burberry trench, although I wasn’t a fan of the pieces which were cut longer. Other highlights of the collection for me were rather surprisingly the leather trousers and the gladiator birkinstocks, normally I’m dead set against anything birkinstock despite loving sandals and leather trousers on men is a pretty hard look to pull off without looking cheap/sleazy but being the genius Bailey is he pulled the whole thing off and yet again presented another amazing collection for the label.
