I’m a huge fan of the V&A. It’s one of my favorite places in London and is a endless source of inspiration, ideas and just all round wonderful things. If your ever in need of some creative fuel the V&A is bound to have something for you in it’s vast collections, which very conveniently can now be searched online.
Like all museums the V&A has a ton of stuff on show but has just as much stuff hidden away, so having all the collections online is a bit amazing and they are full of hidden gems. I’ve spend god knows how long searching through the fashion collections, stumbling upon amazing vintage pieces by Balenciaga, Dior, Givenchy & Chanel.
Of course the collections are not at all limited to fashion, there’s graphic design, paintings, textiles, sculpture and jewelry. Basically anything you can think of, the V&A has it in it’s collections. If you have a few spare minutes it’s definitely worth a look, although a few minutes easily turns into a good hour or so, so be prepared…
